My client is a globally renowned Marketing & Engagement Agency with a growing events arm currently expanding & seeking a talented & motivated salesperson to join the Australia team in selling sponsorship and exhibition space to both association and government event clients.

 

The client delivers events across Australia and the Asia-Pacific as a critical part of their services with a great opportunity for the sponsorship professional to thrive and build their own portfolio of events/clients with new and recurring clients in a range of business sectors.

 

Expertise Required…

 

If you meet the following criteria, then this could be your next fantastic career move.

 

  • 2 – 3 years’ experience working in sponsorship sales, or similar, with a proven track record of achievements. Candidates with a background in a commercial conference organisation are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Candidates fluent in a language other than English used in business in the Asia-Pacific Region, are sought after
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, and a friendly and outgoing personality
  • Confidence to lead discussions with C-Suite executives, board members and leading professors/doctors in their field
  • Able to present clearly, confidently and with conviction
  • Able to spend extended periods of time away from home for domestic and international business travel
  • Experience in a sales environment, working with or selling to the following verticals (preferred but not essential): ICT / SaaS / Big Data / Analytics; Agriculture; Banking / Financial Services; Automotive / Transportation

 

The role

 

  • To build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective sponsors and exhibitors
  • Manage sales activity to achieve KPI’s through calls, meetings and presentations to prospects. Includes prospecting, sales negotiation and closing
  • Work with the Sponsorship Director to develop and execute sponsorship campaign strategies
  • Work with Marketing, Operations, and other departments to collaboratively develop and promote sponsorship opportunities across the event portfolio
