The Client… My client is a Management Consultancy specialising in Business Development within the Life Sciences and Healthcare sectors. Working with leading emerging-to-large Pharma, Biotech and Academic Institutions worldwide. Through expansion a key role has arisen for a “Player Manager” Divisional Sales Director to look after an experienced team of 3 as well as working on personal sales development.


Role…This is a combined sales & managerial role. You will be responsible for growing my client’s revenues across their digital & traditional event portfolios.  You will be expected to demonstrate a strategic approach and entrepreneurial zeal in the sale of products. Demonstrating the highest standards, you will constantly look for ways in which the products can be improved or refined.  You are expected to have a team focus, working with colleagues to share contacts, market information and best practice and to ensure that the client nurtures a culture of innovation and excellence.

People Management

  • Provide visionary leadership of the sponsorship sales function.
  • Ensure a strong team culture, aligned with business needs
  • Ensuring company targets are met as well as personal sales of £360-500k
  • Launching new innovative events and platforms in order to grow the P&L year on year
  • Ability to generate your own qualified leads through internet research, reading of industry trade journals, networking, and referrals.
  • Ability to apply a consultative approach, by understanding industry challenges and tailoring a value-added package for your qualified prospects
  • Ability to work independently and be self-driven within a team structure.
  • Managing key accounts at events globally
  • Development of the sales executives (skills, knowledge & process) and provision of appropriate training solutions
  • Ensure adequate (100%) resourcing of the sales team
  • Formation of incentive/motivational plans for the sales team
  • Performance management of the Sales Execs by undertaking regular reviews/addressing development areas
  • Create an environment of team working and knowledge sharing
  • Proven track record of consistent achievement of own and team revenue targets
  • Excellent application of a consultative sales approach

We are looking for:

  • 3 years + experience within commercial event sales sector, anything around the Pharma/Medical/Life Sciences preferred.
  • Top sales performer and biller in your current role with clear track record of exceeding targets and objectives
  • As well as traditional experience, Webinar/Digital Sponsorship experience would be beneficial.
