Senior Conference Producer (Technology Space) – Global Publisher & Events

London (City)

£Salary TBD + Uncapped Bonus

My client is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a member of the FTSE 250 share index. It is an international business-information group covering asset management, price discovery, data and market intelligence, banking and finance and telecoms and technology. Due to expansion a role has arisen for a producer with commercial experience to join a thriving young business that offers 3-4 day large scale conferences and exhibitions, webinars, industry news and broadcasted video from the events.

The Role will involve…

Conference Production:

  • Producing a portfolio of multi-day conferences with presentations, workshops, roundtable debates and panel discussions.
  • In collaboration with analysts and advisory boards, developing relevant agendas to attract repeat bookings and new business. Developing a detailed profile and direction for each event’s content, communicated through the agenda, website and Call for Proposals.
  • Writing promotional marketing copy including website copy, brochures, delegate letters & content-led emails.
  • Recruiting senior level speakers, moderators and panellists to fill out dense, content-led agendas – from 50 to 270 speakers per event.
  • Maintaining a live agenda, with daily updates, up to and including the dates of the events.
  • Creating and updating website content for each event, including but not limited to: agenda, agenda map, sponsor discount codes, speaker list, advisory panel members, etc.
  • Ensuring the event attracts the right profile of sponsors and attendees. Supporting sponsorship and marketing by suggesting sponsorship and media partnership leads, helping to develop a content-led marketing campaign.

On-site at events:

  • Participating in the opening of conferences, giving opening welcome speeches to include market content and chairing sessions / moderating panels as necessary and where appropriate.
  • Being an on-site point of contact for speakers and moderators. Greeting speakers, briefing chairs and moderators, ensuring presentations are submitted.

  • In collaboration with analysts and advisory boards, conducting in-depth research with a cross-section of the industry to outline market trends, their objectives, business needs & audience wish list.
  • Conducting post-event feedback surveys and calls. Collating and presenting feedback on event topics, venue, dates, structure, partners, attendee profile, etc.
  • Maintaining a website news feed with links to relevant industry news items from our media partners.

Webinar production:

  • Producing webinars with guest speakers, both sponsored and not, ad-hoc or as part of a series.
  • Assisting in determining a strategy with sales and marketing, including timeline, marketing dates, key sponsorship targets, and target number of sponsored vs free webinars.
  • Recruiting speakers for free webinars and taking over relationship with sponsored webinar speakers once sponsorship is signed off.
  • Editing and distributing the webinar introduction/conclusion script. Recruiting and briefing an analyst moderator or, where appropriate, moderating the webinar personally: introducing the speaker(s), moderating the live Q&A and giving a brief conclusion.

Awards production:

  • Maintaining relationships with the Awards judging panel, securing repeat participation from past judges. Recruiting new judges from our analyst partners when necessary, and securing presenters for the award ceremony itself from among the judges.
  • Acting as point of contact for the judges: briefing them on their duties, securing Non-Disclosure Agreements and ensuring adherence to a rigorous set of rules to maintain the integrity and credibility of the awards.
  • In collaboration with marketing and sales, developing a timeline for nominations opening/closing, entries being sent to judges, judged entries being returned, and shortlists being announced.
  • In collaboration with partner analysts, creating a set of categories and sub-categories, with associated questions and guidelines for submission.

Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong academics with a degree of 2.1 or equivalent
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with 100% fluency in written and spoken English
  • A good telephone manner and professional, confident face-to-face manner
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects through highly effective organisational skills

  • Strong project management skills, exceptional attention to detail and ability to work towards deadlines
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team within a pressurised environment
  • Ability to analyse ideas from a commercial perspective
  • Strong presentation skills
