My Client… is a leading pan-African business platform that promotes trade and investment & serves more than 400 member companies, comprising multinationals, private equity firms, institutional investors, development finance institutions, professional service organisations, government bodies and entrepreneurs ranging from bespoke events, investor trips, market intelligence, and high-level connectivity. An exciting role has arisen for a Head of Member Relations.


The Role… The position will be primarily focused on maintaining and deepening existing member relations and identifying new business. The role will have three main pillars: relationship management, client outreach, and strategic development. In this function the Head of Member Relations will work directly with one assigned support, Member Relations Manager, who will help with meeting preparations, prospect identification, client requests, renewals and other client experience enhancing needs. This might include working on pricing, pitchbooks, prospects, and identifying themes and content for 100+ events that will benefit the existing and growing network. The Head of Member Relations will be responsible for 50% of the company total revenue and identifying and devising new revenue streams and services that will enhance the current offering.



  • Account Management: Manage 400 existing members and carry out a regular call and meeting campaign to ensure client business strategies, initiatives and achievements are effectively profiled across the
  • Business Development: Devise prospect pipeline and secure a pre-agreed number of members. Secure international entities looking to deepen relations in the Continent, and Africa domiciled entities looking for global connectivity. Attend third party conferences and thought leadership
  • Strategy: Develop annual member strategy, identify key countries and sectors of
  • Events: Lead and support the Strategy and Development Manager in identifying themes and speakers for the 100+ events organised across London, Dubai, South Africa, and across the African continent.
  • Investor Missions: Identify countries that members and prospects are keen to visit. Participate in investor missions and help curate the trip alongside the BD
  • CRM: Ensure member profile accounts are kept up to date, member and prospect meetings are logged on salesforce according to sales and record retention
  • Manage: Manage Member Relations Executives and appointed



  • Degree level qualification and relevant experience in corporate relationship management and business development with Africa experience is
  • Broad capital markets knowledge would be an advantage
  • Excellent organisational, planning, problem solving, time management and written skills are required
  • Entrepreneurial mind
  • Outstanding interpersonal/communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task within a dynamic team to meet deadlines and exceed expectations
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and desire to learn
  • Fluent in English, and another language would be advantageous
  • Circa 10% Travel will be required
