The role of the Business Development Manager is to generate revenue to both existing and new clients, exceeding both sales targets and KPI’s in order to bring the event over budget. We are looking for a new business hunter”


Main duties and responsibilities:


  • Researching and conducting sales campaigns to attract new business
  • Creating, developing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients through a consultative sales approach.
  • Keeping abreast of market developments and identifying and researching new growth areas for sales.
  • Maintaining key customer care objectives.
  • In conjunction with the Management Team developing strategies and initiatives to ensure the on-going growth and development of the conferences.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of all competitor activity.
  • Attending and actively engaging target companies at events
  • Build relationships and contacts with new accounts and create new revenue opportunities from untapped sectors
  • Proactively lead source from various different avenues in order to increase database
  • Working closely with the marketing team to:
    • Follow up enquiries
    • Feedback contacts into database
    • Attract new business revenues where required
    • Develop group sales with both primary and vendor markets
  • Attending industry functions when required.


Skills and Behaviours:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within sales with a proven track record in sales and making high volume outbound sales calls.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the sales principles, process and practice
  • Self-motivated and determined with a strong sense of personal initiative.
  • Ability to meet and exceed targets
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to negotiate and build rapport effectively
  • Strong objection avoidance and objection handling skills
  • Be able to build trust and credibility amongst our potential customer base.
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Demonstrate ability to take ownership of tasks and to problem-solve quickly
