My client…is a multiple award-winning producer of investment conferences for Africa and Latin America’s energy sectors, due to the digital success of the business a new role has arisen for a creative Marketing Director an excellent opportunity for a highly strategic digital native who is passionate about innovation, mastering new technology and driving digital campaigns. The candidate will help drive all things digital as well as growing a team.
The Role…Digital Marketing Director will play a key role in shaping the company’s digital strategy. Reporting into the Head of Marketing, you will line manage a Data Analyst to implement a culture of data-driven insights through marketing technology, analysis, optimization and consistent reporting. The role would suit someone within the digital publishing industry and/or subscriptions models.
The Candidate… You will be responsible for driving digital strategy as the company moves to a new phase of growth centered around a B2B community model, as well as crafting exceptional customer journeys, creating and delivering cross-channel digital marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, generate leads and improve customer retention.
Own and deliver the digital marketing strategy in line with business objectives
Use marketing automation technology to craft exceptional customer journeys and qualify leads
Use digital channels and technologies to enhance online presence of the business
Oversee the integrations between technology platforms to ensure a seamless experience for customers moving through the customer value journey
Collaborate with sales team and business stakeholders to increase sales opportunities through lead management strategies
Oversee the structure, implementation & optimization of sales data plans
Develop innovative, revenue-generating ideas for campaigns in the portfolio
Continuously analyse marketing metrics to improve campaign performance
Oversee website optimization projects which enhance our ability to convert organic web traffic
Promote a culture of testing and change to continuously drive improvement
Coach the existing team on best practice digital marketing techniques and channels
Undertake continued learning about marketing technologies and automation as well as the entire digital marketing industry through attending events, reading, listening to podcasts and webinars
Skills & Experience Required..
At least 5 years’ previous experience in a similar strategic position
Previous role within digital publishing industry and/or subscriptions advantageous.
Experience in developing implementation roadmaps and processes around new technology
Experience integrating industry leading marketing technology tools like Pardot, Sprout Social, Salesforce CRM, chatbots, landing page software etc
Excellent knowledge of best practice across email, social media, paid media, landing pages, websites and chatbots
Excellent ability to strategically interpret data trends and gaps, providing analysis and recommendations
Deep knowledge in customer segmentation, data and list management and deliverability
Ability to articulate power of insight to stakeholders of all levels of experience
Excellent knowledge of marketing automation technology
