My Client… Is globally renowned as the UK’s best-selling quality broadsheet newspaper, due to exciting expansion a role has arisen for a driven, commercially-savvy, Conference Producer. The client delivers quality, trusted, award-winning journalism, 24 hours a day, across its digital and print properties as well as through leading digital partners with over 160 years heritage reaching over 27 million readers worldwide.

 

The Role…Reporting to the Head of Content for Business Events, the Conference Producer will have responsibility for delivering thoroughly researched agendas, inviting and confirming the highest calibre of speakers working with and building relationships with the editorial team and will be expected to contribute to the initiation of new event launches within the fast-growing Business Events division across several sectors including Policy, Politics, Tech, Finance & Business Affairs.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities include –

  • To research and develop between 4-6 events per annum as well as roundtables.
  • To develop custom events with clients and deliver bespoke events in close collaboration with the clients directly
  • To initiate and propose ideas for new launch conferences
  • Build market maps and build commercial conferences based on in-depth market research
  • To ensure the recruitment of top-level speakers during the research phase
  • To build relationships with the editorial teams as appropriate for each event
  • To work within a clear production cycle and ensure all deadlines are met
  • To project manage your events and ensure all the teams meet regularly, meet key deadlines/milestones and are on track for delivering a successful event
  • Inviting and managing advisory boards and chairing advisory board meetings as part of the research cycle
  • Briefing and working closely with the marketing and sales team to ensure we are identifying and reaching potential sponsorship partners and our target audience

 

Specific requirements / skills

  • A minimum of 6 months experience working with a commercial B2B conference company and a proven track record in launching commercially successful conferences (Graduates will also be considered)
  • Demonstrable experience of quality content and recruitment of the highest level speakers
  • You will have a unique mixture of creativity, ambition and a passion for new launches as well as an ability to ensure process, structure and planning.
  • Excellent communicator who can manage brands and business expectations
  • Thrives in a challenging, fast paced and high pressure environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and in person
  • Team player, excellent time keeping, organisation skills, ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Commercially driven with a desire to generate topical events which will generate revenues from both sponsors and delegates/attendees
  • Ability prioritise tasks and finalise projects within agreed timeframes
